The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) is an independent Australian Government agency. The FWO provides free information and advice to employers and workers to help them understand their workplace rights and responsibilities. The FWO also provides assistance with resolving workplace disputes and enforces compliance with workplace laws.

The FWO can be contacted at:

  • www.fairwork.gov.au - the first point of contact for information and advice about Australia’s workplace relations system. This website provides information and resources to assist overseas visa holders when working or looking for work in Australia, including information in 30 different languages. Online enquiries or questions can be sent through My Account.
  • Fair Work Infoline – you can call the FWO on 13 13 94 (or 13 14 15 for Translating and Interpreting Service)

A free app which assists workers to easily record and store their hours of work. The app is available in 17 languages and can be downloaded from:

Anonymous Report

A tool which allows members of the community to report a workplace concern anonymously. Information provided to the FWO helps us plan our current and future education and enforcement activities. The report is available in English and 16 other languages.

Pay and conditions tool (PACT)
